This week’s market was steady compared to last week, with weigh cows up $2-$4.

Market was overall steady to up $5

Highlights:

6 unweaned steers 388lb at $2.17

10 unweaned steers 450lb at $2.13

12 unweaned heifers 417lb at $1.85

73 steers 682lb at $1.90

131 steers 761lb at $1.77

58 steers 846lb at $1.67

5 steers 538lb at $2.11

8 steers 454lb at $2.20

12 heifers 477lb at $1.81

Market was unevenly steady. Weigh cows were steady to $4 higher.

Market was strong with heifers $5-$12 higher and steers $5-$10 higher. Cow and bull market was $5-$15 higher.

Highlights:

82 heifers 639lb at $1.7185/lb

75 heifers 677lb at $1.6675/lb

63 heifers 793lb at $1.57/lb

Calf market was steady to down $8 on a mostly new crop offering.  Cow and bull market is in a free fall due to so many cows coming to market. Packers have cows standing everywhere that they can’t get processed. Cows would have been $5-$15 cheaper. Light carcass cows have very little value.

Market was steady to up $10 on the better weaned steers. Weigh cows and bulls were $5-$10 lower.

Smaller sale with the heat we’re having. Lots of plainer cattle this week, but market was mostly steady. Come join us for our special sheep and goat sale this Friday at 6:00 pm!
