Roaming Nativity Scene In Kansas

Authorities in a central Kansas community were searching Sunday for the owners of a camel, a donkey and a calf they found roaming along a road, reminiscent of a Midwestern Christmas Nativity Scene.

In a Facebook post, the Goddard (Kan.) Police Department asked for help in locating the owners of the “three friends traveling together (towards a Northern star).”

Police said in the Facebook post that if they couldn’t find the owners, they would be “halfway toward a live Nativity this Christmas season.”

Later on Sunday the owners were identified. Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Lt. Tim Meyers said the animals belong to an employee of the nearby Tanganyika Wildlife Park. Goddard is about 15 miles west of Wichita.
