“Chick” or Treat: Costumes Inspired by the Barnyard

Halloween: an opportunity for parents to squish their adorable children into itchy, feathery, sparkly works of art. Although there may not be much trick-or-treating in neighborhoods this year due to the pandemic, there are lots of ways you can keep Halloween traditions alive. From connecting with some of your closest friends and hosting a virtual costume show to facetiming with family, finding a reason to dress up is simply good medicine for kids.

Thanks to our readers, we’ve been able to compile a slide show of farm-themed Halloween costumes for everyone to enjoy. Hands-down, chickens were the costume of choice this year.

It’s Not Too Late
For those that want to dress up this Halloween, but haven’t figured out a costume yet, stay tuned to the last slide. Our family put together this easy “family” costume earlier this month. (Please note my youngest daughter’s joy over this idea my husband came up with!) Assembly only takes a few minutes and is guaranteed to make someone laugh.

Speaking of laughs, here’s “Chick” or Treat – our 2020 tribute to farm-themed Halloween costumes.
