AgPro Podcast: Good Data Is the Foundational Building Block

In a recent AgPro podcast, Steve Cubbage, AgPro columnist and founder of Record Harvest, shares the key steps in using data for agronomic decisions. He shares how he defines “good data.”

“It’s important data is usable, which boiled down means it can be easily and reliably understood,” he says.

Cubbage gives these insights:

Just like a preflight checklist, there are key steps to good data collection.
•    First, do you have the right field boundaries?
•    Then, is the farmer consistently collecting data—every year? Consistent data collection is paramount.
•    Also, is the yield data properly calibrated? And are you standardizing the data?

And Steve will share more at the upcoming AgTech Expo, Dec. 16 and 17 in Indianapolis.
